Mae finally lost her first tooth.  She asked for apples every day, to try to help it fall out.  She proudly showed it to me, hanging there so stubbornly.  It really was gross and I was convinced she was going to swallow it in her sleep.  As weird as it was to see this thing dangling from her gums, it’s one of those milestones that made me realize my baby’s not a baby anymore.  It was only 5 1/2 years ago that she’d wake up screaming at night chewing on her fists trying to get that same tooth to break through her tiny gums…

Hanging on by a thread, a couple nights before.

Out came the tooth in her blueberries and yogurt.

One gold dollar in her tooth pillow.  Thank you, tooth fairy.
